Left after worship & met up with Debbie, Zhiyin & Gyy. Headed down to Indoor Stadium for Festival of Praise! FOP's really a great event. The Parachute Band was leading Worship, & the feeling's definitely different.
Sermon = (: It was on Growing old or Growing up. As a person grows up, you can be child-like, but definitely not childish. One thing that really struck me was when Pastor Mark Conner said that, "Maturity doesn't comes with age, but with the acceptance of responsibility." I find it so true. You can be 50 years old but yet at the same time, you're not matured at all. Likewise when you're younger, doesn't mean that you can't be matured. Pastor Mark has his own way of engaging us into the process of seeking God's word. There's so much that I've gained from this sermon. Like to be responsible to people, & not for people. & we must not be ruled by our own emotions, start to think of the good things that He has done in our lives. Many a times, we'd always think of the negative things or things that God hasn't done for us. Joy is a choice, if you choose to be unhappy about things everyday, then that's your own decision. You'll have to live with it. Lastly, growing up mean taking responsibility of our own lives :)
Indeed, a wonderful message. I'm glad I went. Ended at 10.45pm, most of time was praise & worship. We had no idea which way to go, in the end took bus to Bugis & took bus 80. Saw hong xiong in the bus! Haha, so Debbie & I chatted with him about the past & all. Hopefully he'll visit primary school on Teachers' Day. Finally reached Hougang, alighted & was hoping that the last bus 72 would arrive. Lol fortunately it came, I don't wanna spend on taxi rides again. Hong xiong's "Bye dumbass!" was impactive lol. Oh yeah saw Joyce at FOP too, but she was quite far away lah. Can recognise from her ACJC big prints on her shirt haha. Tomorrow's the last night, Pastors will be preaching something on living in Eternity.
Have you been doing the right thing? That's the question I've been asking myself. Yes, some people may come from a family with a Christian background, but yet they're not exactly doing the right thing. Procrastinate & procrastinate. People with non-Christian family background is quite hard to say, it's either you get it or you don't. I assume that most understand what the "right" thing means. Maybe we should end off the day by asking ourselves, have we been doing the right thing.
